In Region Gotland, meals are an important part of the whole – in schools, elderly care, and health care. Through your work with food and meals, you contribute to health, well-being, and quality of life for people of all ages. Here, food is prepared that matters, every day.

With us, you will be part of Kitchen Area 3, located in Visby, which consists of the kitchens at Norrbacka, Tjelvar, Väskinde, Solberga, Törnekvior, S:t Hans, and Terra Nova.

At Norrbacka School's kitchen, we are 5 employees and prepare about 750 portions per day, of which 250 are for Norrbacka school restaurant, the rest are sent to preschools in Visby.

We are currently looking for a chef to join our team!

Your Responsibilities

As a chef, you will among other things:

  • Prepare and cook delicious, nutritious, and well-balanced meals.
  • Ensure that planning, cooking, and follow-up work are carried out in a safe, structured, and efficient manner.
  • Work according to assignments, decisions made, routines, and guidelines.
  • Follow applicable regulations, such as the self-control program, machine instructions, and operational systems.
  • Provide a professional and service-oriented approach to guests and other stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvements and participate in the development of the kitchen, restaurant, and the organization as a whole.
  • Maintain high quality in everything delivered from the kitchen, with a focus on quality and in close collaboration with colleagues.
  • Contribute to a good atmosphere and a positive work environment.
  • Ensure correct handling of special diets and work in the dietary software Matilda.
  • Be part of a flexible operation by handling changes smoothly and rotating within the kitchen, kitchen area, and department as needed.

Who are you?

We are primarily looking for someone with a documented culinary education, such as a three-year high school education focused on restaurant and meal service, a KY education, or other relevant education that we assess as equivalent. A B driver's license is a requirement.

You need to have experience working with special diets, and it is an advantage if you have worked with cooking in large kitchens. We value your curiosity and willingness to learn new things.

As a person, you are flexible and have good collaboration skills, which means you contribute to a well-functioning work environment together with colleagues and other professional groups. With a clear service orientation, you have a professional and pleasant demeanor and create a positive experience for guests in your daily work.

You work with good judgment and act according to the organization's assignments and guidelines. At the same time, you have a strong holistic view and understand how your efforts affect both guests and colleagues as well as the organization as a whole. You take responsibility for your tasks, adapt to changing conditions, and actively contribute to a stable and qualitative operation.
